Our Process

01

Brainstorming

The initial stages of our project focused on thinking about what project we'd address. As fellow university students, we decided to focus on problems surrounding university life.

02

Researching

03

Designing

After gathering our information, our group set out to design a blog-style website. We aimed to create a simple, easy to navigate website for students. More information regarding our initial designs can be found right below.

04

Publishing

Once all three steps were completed, all that was left was presenting our project to our fellow peers. Find more detailed information on our process at this link:

Our next step involved researching different areas related to student life, which included social, mental, personal, academic, and UR specific topics.

Our Initial Designs

Our initial designs started out on paper. We ultimately had planned on presenting our product through 2-D by using a website platform. Our team drafted a possible design template, and we focused on highlighting the different sections related to university life.

In the end, our final draft of the product resulted in deviating from our original plans. This occurred because we realized that our website would benefit more for the viewers if it was presented in a basic, blog-style design. We aimed for ease of use and viewing for the students.

Our Budget

As our website functions primarily as a blog, our team mainly consists of a few web designers and content creators. Our website is created as a hobby/personal website, and mainly runs on the research conducted by the content creators. As our team is a small group made up of four team members, we aim to keep our website simple and low-profile.

We project that creating a decent website for blogging will take 14 weeks, and additional hours would be needed for ample research for creating blogs. With our current team, creating one blog each would take approximately 1- 2 weeks each. The first week would consist of researching topics for our blogs, and the next 1-3 would be needed for peer-review from our teammates. The rest of the days would be used for editing and polishing the final blog posts.
