Many schools group students up randomly to be roommates unless students explicitly say otherwise, or they wish to be paired with another student. So, that means that the rest of us are up for lottery and some people are not going to be very happy about their roommate.
Don’t like ‘em, Kick ‘em out - DON'T, but you can ask for proper accommodation at another dorm building/living space. The best way to deal with the issue is to reach out to Residential Life A.K.A RESLife is by email (housing@reslife.rochester.edu) or by phone (585) 275-3166.
The Hairy kind - Pets are not allowed in any University dormitory but if you do need some snuggles the university does provide some therapeutic dogs (doggos) for when the going gets tough. (Due to COVID-19 the Doggo Therapy has been Cancelled for the foreseeable future)
