Not sure how to deal with chores? Here are some useful tips when it comes to cleaning up.

1. Find Out What Tasks/Chores Must Be Completed
When you move to campus, you are most likely going to move in with a roommate. Early in the semester, be sure to discuss with your roommate how you would like to divide the tasks of cleaning up between each other.
Make sure to analyze what tasks must be done, such as washing the dishes or throwing out the garbage. Consider how often these tasks will need to be completed.
2. Create a Schedule
Once the tasks have been established, it helps to create a physical schedule to post in the room. List what tasks need to completed, what days one person will complete the tasks, and check boxes. It is also beneficial if you and your roommate decide on a set day, like the weekend, to spend time on doing the chores.
3. Don't Let Leftover Food Stay Too Long In Your Room
We all know what happens when food is left in a room for a long time... Flies will definitely gather, and they are nasty pests that never seen to go away. Avoid this problem by immediately discarding of food once you've eaten it. Throw your trash in either in a covered trash bin, and dispose of larger bags of trash in the dorm's trash floor.
4. Vacuuming and Dusting
Dorms will generally have carpet flooring, so it's best to vacuum your room at least once a week. This will prevent the accumulation of dust and crumbs in your dorm room. If you do not have a vacuum, do not fret. The office area in your dorm will most likely provide a vacuum to borrow for your use. Be sure to return the vacuum as other students are probably in need of it. You can always purchase a cheap vacuum at a nearby store for $20 or less.
If you keep these basic tips in mind, your dorm room is bound to remain in a decent and comfortable condition.
